World Environment Day 2024 #GenerationRestoration

World Environment Day, held annually on 5 June, brings together millions of people from across the globe, engaging them in the effort to protect and restore the Earth. The cause recognises that we cannot turn back time, but we can grow forests, revive water sources, and bring back soils. We are encouraged that we are the generation that can make peace with land!

Since its inception in 1973 World Environment Day has been a global platform for inspiring positive change. People from more than 150 countries participate in this United Nations international day, which celebrates environmental action and the power of governments, businesses and individuals to create a more sustainable world.

Since World Environment Day puts a global spotlight on the pressing environmental challenges of our times, this UN international day has become the largest global platform for environmental outreach, with millions of people from across the world engaging to protect the planet.

 

Our Environmental Pledge

M4 Recruitment is committed to protecting and enhancing the environment including preventing pollution as much as possible. The Management of the Company recognises that our activities have an environmental impact and in developing our policies we seek to confirm our commitment to manage environmental issues properly. As part of our overall sustainability goals, we are committed to continual improvement in the management and reduction of energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Business Administrator – Go vegetarian one day a week & Donating Clothes

Commercial Manger – Go vegetarian one day a week for the rest of 2024

Accounts Assistant – Donating clothes & Planting Bee Friendly Flowers

Contract Manager – Put food & water containers out for your local wildlife and Walk, Bike or take public transport to work

 

M4’s Environmental 2024 Goals

• Minimise the use of natural resources. (eg moving our recruitment process online, encouraging employees to only print when necessary & instead save electronic copies of documents where practical). In 2024, we would like to reduce our paper consumption by 15%.
• Minimise the generation of waste and implement recycling at all office locations (plastics, paper, cardboard & ink cartridges)
• Minimise the total energy use by 5% by the end of 2024. This will be done by reducing the temperature in the office, ensuring all heating is turn off in empty rooms and lights/ other electrical equipment are turned off when not in use and overnight
• Switching 50% of our offices to renewable energy (where applicable)
• Minimise pollution and promote greener transport options (e.g. promoting car sharing, the use of public transport & electric company vehicles). 90% of company car fleet to be electric or hybrid by the end of 2024
• Purchase and promote the use of greener office & cleaning products
